On September 8, 2011, Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with a delegation of the Wallenberg family, a prominent Swedish banking group, in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

Li said bilateral relations have been developing steadily since the establishment of diplomatic ties 61 years ago, pointing to increasing cooperation in politics, economy and culture. People-to-people exchanges are an important part of state-to-state relations, as well as an effective way to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between both peoples. The Wallenberg family has significant influence in Sweden's political and economic sectors and has long been participating in China's economic construction and contributed to the friendship between both peoples. Li pointed out that China will continue to actively and steadily push forward opening-up in all areas and welcomes foreign companies, including those from Sweden, to further cooperate with their Chinese partners in high-end manufacturing, high-tech industries, modern service industry, energy saving and environmental protection to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

Peter Wallenberg, head of the Wallenberg Foundation, said the banking group will continue expanding investment in China and is ready to work for exchanges and cooperation between Sweden and China in the economic sector.
