Vice Premier Li Keqiang Meets with President of the Uzbek Senate

On July 21, 2011, Vice Premier Li Keqiang met with President of the Uzbek Senate Ilgizar Sabirov at the Great Hall of the People.

Li made positive comments on the development of China-Uzbekistan friendly cooperative partnership. He said recent years have witnessed close high-level exchanges, deepening political trust, expanding cooperation on economy and humanities and sound coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs. China is ready to work with Uzbekistan to enhance mutual support, deepen cooperation in all areas and push China-Uzbekistan friendly cooperative ties to a new stage. Li said China will work closely with Uzbekistan to promote greater development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in next 10 years.

The two countries' economies are highly complementary and there is huge potential for their cooperation, Li said, adding that the fruitful cooperation between both countries has brought concrete benefits to the two peoples. To further expand and deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation, Li raised a four-point proposal. First, further boost bilateral trade growth. Second, deepen cooperation on energy resources. Third, expand investment and finance cooperation. Fourth, enhance cooperation in non-resources and high-tech fields.

Sabirov said his country is ready to make joint efforts with China to promote sustained, healthy and stable development of bilateral ties and further enhance coordination with China in the SCO.
