Wang Yi Meets with Vietnamese and Thai Guests Respectively

On April 8, 2024, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chinese Co-Chair of the China-Viet Nam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation Wang Yi met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Vietnamese Co-Chair of the Viet Nam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation Tran Luu Quang, who is accompanying Chairman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam Vuong Dinh Hue on his visit to China, at the latter's request in Beijing.

Wang Yi said that building a China-Viet Nam community with a shared future conforms to the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples and has great significance for the two countries in accelerating their respective modernization drives and advancing the cause of socialism. China is ready to work with Viet Nam to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the top leaders of the two parties, give full play to the role of coordination of the China-Viet Nam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, and promote the building of a China-Viet Nam community with a shared future for the goal of greater political mutual trust, more solid security cooperation, deeper mutually beneficial cooperation, stronger popular support, closer multilateral coordination and better handling of differences.

Tran Luu Quang said that Viet Nam is willing to work with China to take the building of the Viet Nam-China community with a shared future as a guide and jointly advance the common cause of socialism for mutual benefit and win-win results.

On the same day, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand in Beijing.

Wang Yi first conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. Wang Yi said that Princess Sirindhorn has visited China over 50 times, which vividly demonstrates that China and Thailand are as close as one family. China cherishes its traditional friendship with the Thai royal family and is willing to work with Thailand to implement the high-level common understandings between the two countries and push for constant new progress in building a China-Thailand community with a shared future.

Sirindhorn said that the Thai royal family cherishes Thailand-China friendship, and Thailand is willing to take the opportunity of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year to constantly promote mutual understanding and amity between the two peoples.
