The Police are getting reports from fraudsters who focus on Chinese students in the Netherlands.
How can you recognize a fraudster?
The fraudsters contact you by telephone and they pretend to be government officials and they say that you are involved in a crime. They subsequently threaten you by imprisonment and they warn you that you are not allowed to speak to anyone about it.
The fraudsters use false numbers, false names, uniforms and forged documents which they use to try and convince you to transfer money.
In addition, you may be forced to stage your own abduction with the aim of extorting money from your family in this way.
Put the phone down and report the incident!
If you do get a fraudster on the phone, put the phone down and report the incident to the Police via 0900-8844, or via
